About UsThe advertising slogan of the developer was "Open Gate in Fifty-Eight". Open Gates subdivision was built, a section at a time, on farmland. Lines of tall trees marking portions of the boundaries of the first section, can be seen between what are now Runnymede and Kimberly Way, western Westerfield Way and Severn, and behind Southview.
The Open Gates Neighborhood Association was formed in the fall of 1997. Our goal is the preservation and protection of our neighborhood. We hope to achieve this by being aware of government initiatives affecting us, and communicating these matters to residents. |

What is the difference between a registered neighborhood association & a homeowner’s association? |
A registered neighborhood association, like your OGNA, is a voluntary association that has registered with the city as a group interested in planning projects and referrals for various noticing requirements. A homeowner’s association is a mandatory association that usually assesses a fee for the care and upkeep of common facilities, such as landscaping, swimming pool, management costs, etc. |
